well I race the boulder peak last weekend in hopes of a solid session and to blow some cobwebs out and I got exactly what I wanted ! but let me tell you I do know I am a big old diesel engine :-) that anaerobic racing is just a suffer fest! I had a good swim and came out with the second pack , once I got onto the bike it was all uphill in reality and down hill for me. I was quite tired from the weeks training and just had no power , but I was OK with it and just kept plugging away, I came off the bike and would say completed the run in 38 min to come in at about 2:05ish i think.

this past week I have had some great training and experiences , on Wednesday Marilyn , Justin (http://www.jutindearr.com/ ) and myself did the mt Evans ride from our place up in nederland , it ended up being 8 hours in duration with the lowest altitude being 7600 feet and topped out at the top of mt Evans at 14200 feet . in total we did around 13000 feet of vertical climbing and one of the greatest rides I can remember doing.

one Saturday I hooked up with a big group for another long ride but this time out on the flat , there was 9 of us in total and we rolled out to Wiggins quite easy and then tried to light it up on the way home , there was about 70k that was just like a bike race,.. just over 7 hrs total ride time and 257km.

Sunday bought a long run of 2.5 hrs that went great for me and things are coming along well for Kentucky and I am looking forward to a hard race.

the pic above is from the summit of mt Evans , it is unbelievable up there , I would recommend riding up there to anyone who is after an adventure.

Cheers C
